Tuesday

What an awesome day! We were excited to get to the Salvation Army and get prepped to go to the park today. We had a great time at the park; the youth gave so much of themselves and made the day a great experience for the people who joined us. We had games, crafts, music, food giveaways, clothing giveaways, and a prayer station for the people of the Shepperd Park community. Kids and adults came to the park and made fleece pillows, ate ham and cheese sandwiches, and sang along with our praise team as they lead worship and drama.

The youth shared tonight about the impact the people we have come into contact with have made on them. They are being stretched beyond their comfort zones and are doing many things they never saw themselves doing on a mission trip. Many students have never talked with homeless individuals and the majority of the people we served today were currently homeless or living in a local shelter. The students are definitely thinking...and that is a good place for them to be. God continues to challenge them and stretch them!
